If you are an EU/EFTA entrepreneur planning to start a business in Switzerland, you will need to obtain a residence and work permit, and for certain company types, a local resident representative is now a confirmed requirement.

Entrepreneurs from EU/EFTA countries establishing a sole proprietorship or partnership in Switzerland require a residence and work permit. For a GmbH or AG, at least one representative residing in Switzerland with a valid residence and work permit is required.
