Western Australia Outlines Skilled Migration for Construction Sector
For individuals considering relocation to Western Australia via skilled migration, this means that involvement in the construction sector is now a specific requirement for both employer-sponsored and state-nominated pathways. Those not in this sector may need to reassess their eligibility.
Western Australia has outlined new eligibility criteria for its skilled migration streams. The state now requires both migrants and employers to be involved in the commercial and residential building and construction sector within Western Australia. This applies to employer-sponsored visas (482, 494, 186) and state-nominated visas (190, 491).
Additionally, labour hire companies are ineligible for the employer-sponsored program.
