For individuals planning to study in Canada, this means a significant change in post-graduation work opportunities if attending private colleges, and stricter rules for spouses seeking work permits.
Now
As of February 15, 2024, new international students in private college programs with curriculum licensing agreements are no longer eligible for Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWPs). Additionally, only spouses or common-law partners of international students in graduate and professional degree-granting programs are now eligible for work permits.
